The doodle was designed by Sergey Brin and Larry Page to notify users of their absence in case the servers crashed. The first Google Doodle was to the Burning Man Festival of 1998.

ohh its great to hear that it is designed especially when servers crashed but how the data is transferred to another servers when one server gets crashed.

Hey Jamie, its easy, they do keep copy of both database in both servers and they just have to switch on one another in case of failing of one of the server.

this is great, but is this something like a POP3 mail that replies you in absence of any person not present at desk. it is auto-reply feature.

Always useful to have a third-party monitoring your site. You’ll notice web hosts tend to host their own servers and notice board outside the servers _your_ site is on.

Even google organizes competition for creation of doodle. Lots of peoples which includes children participates to showcase their performance. And getting something awarded from google is itself a very great thing.
